How do I recover my MediaSeal license from an unusable location?


Answer


To recover your MediaSeal license from a broken, lost or stolen iLok dongle, it is recommended that you submit an RMA on iLok's website.  This will enable you to retrieve all product licenses, including your MediaSeal license.  If you prefer to recover just your Mediaseal license, feel free to reach out to our friendly Customer Support team.


To recover your MediaSeal license from a machine that is no longer usable, follow the instructions below.

  1. Download iLok License Manager from www.ilok.com.
  2. Launch iLok License Manager and log in using your iLok account.
  3. On the left side, locate the machine that you no longer have access to and right-click on it.
  4. From the context menu, select 'Report as Unusable'.
  5. Please provide the necessary information, select the 'I understand' checkbox, and click on Submit Request.  A 'Report Computer as Unusable menu' will appear.  Please fill in the required information, check the 'I understand' box and click on Submit Request.
  6. Your license should now be visible in your iLok account, awaiting activation.  You can activate your license using either the iLok License Manager or the built-in activator of the MediaSeal product.
