What is iLok and how does it work with MediaSeal?

An iLok is a hardware device used to manage software licenses for various audio and music production applications.  It functions as a security key that allows users to unlock and use licensed software.  The iLok connects to a computer's USB port and stores the licenses for different applications or plugins, ensuring that only authorized users can access them.

MediaSeal licenses operate through the iLok system, which provides users with flexibility in activation options.  Users can activate their licenses on a physical iLok device, which is a physical USB device plugged into a computer, or, if they do not have access to a physical iLok, they can activate the licenses directly on their machine.

These licenses play a crucial role as unique identifiers for MediaSeal users, ensuring users can securely access and utilise content specifically tailored for them by their clients.  This system not only enhances security but also ensures that authorised users can work seamlessly with the resources provided to them, fostering efficient collaboration between MediaSeal and its clients.
