How do I turn on MediaSeal FS notifications and file event logging?

Modified on: 2026-10-12 16:40:06 +0100

Notifications explain when MediaSeal blocks an app or when a file is opened from outside the MediaSeal Volume. File event logging records extra details that can help diagnose problems.

Turn On Notifications

1. Open Notifications settings

From the menu bar, open MediaSeal File System > Settings, then select Notifications.

2. Enable notifications

Turn on system notifications. We highly recommend keeping notifications enabled so you can see when file access is blocked.

3. Check notification status

Open Diagnostics and look at Notifications:

  • Delivering means notifications can be shown.
  • Silent means notifications may not appear. Check your Mac notification and Focus settings.

Turn On File Event Logging

  • In Settings, find the File event logging option and turn it on when you need more detail for troubleshooting.
  • If you cannot change settings, click Deactivate in the main window first. The volume must be inactive while settings are changed.

If notifications or logging still do not work, include the status shown in Diagnostics when you contact MediaSeal Support.
