Files in a mapped folder should also appear in the MediaSeal Volume. Check these items if you cannot see a file there.
Troubleshooting Steps
1. Check the MediaSeal Volume
- Open the MediaSeal File System app.
- Confirm the volume says Active. If it says Inactive, click Activate.
- Click Refresh to reload the volume and folder list.
2. Check the mapped folder
- In the main window, look under Mapped Directories.
- Confirm the folder containing your file is listed.
- If it is not listed, follow How to map a folder with MediaSeal FS
3. Check where the file is saved
- In Finder, confirm the file is inside the mapped folder, not another folder nearby.
- Files need to be placed in a mapped folder to appear in the MediaSeal Volume.
- After adding the file, click Refresh in the MediaSeal File System window.
4. Open the file from the MediaSeal Volume
Once the file appears, open it from the MediaSeal Volume. Do not open it directly from the original folder in Finder.
See Why can't I open an encrypted file from its original folder?.
If the folder or file is still missing, see the MediaSeal File System Troubleshooting Checklist or contact MediaSeal Support.
